In this work, Valera appears as a post-urban figure who has moved beyond his original existence and taken on a new cultural role.

Valera is depicted in an anthropomorphic form — a being balanced between bird and human, between instinct and stage presence. He wears a simple sweater, with no emphasis on clothing; it is merely part of his physical presence rather than a stylistic statement. The image avoids decoration and focuses instead on action.

He stands behind a vinyl DJ setup — an analog, tactile space where sound becomes physical matter. Records, knobs, and mixers form a mechanism that he does not simply control, but activates, as if bringing it to life.

On his head are small, classic DJ headphones. They do not fully isolate him from the world, but instead create a state of inner focus, where the external becomes a backdrop for rhythm.

On his arm is the word “kiss” — a short, sharp gesture functioning like a street message, a mark of presence that cannot be ignored. It is not a request or a performative plea for attention, but a signal of impact.

A key shift happens in the essence of the character: Valera does not ask for attention — he transmits it. He is no longer an object of observation, but a source of presence radiating outward. His existence becomes the event itself rather than its consequence.

“Valera the King of the DJs” is a work about the transformation of something wild, street-born, almost accidental existence into a confident cultural position, where control over rhythm becomes a form of freedom.

This is a three-layer artwork with a shifting visual identity depending on the lighting conditions. In daylight, the piece reveals one composition; under ultraviolet light, it transforms into a second image; and in nighttime lighting, it reveals a third distinct visual layer.

The work is presented in a handmade custom frame crafted from ash wood, plastered and finished with a pronounced surface texture. Inside, an integrated UV light strip enhances the transformation effect and activates the hidden layers of the composition.
